Product Description
Overglaze colours are colours that are applied over the glaze
coating, so they are sometimes known as 3rd firing colours-the
first firing bing the biscuit firing, the 2nd firing being the
firing of the glaze. Decorative designs can be applied on glazed
bodies, such as tableware or tiles by hand painting, by decals or
transfer of predesigned patterns onto the glazed body, or by direct
printing on the body of the required patterns.
Whatever the method of application, the overglaze colours (high
temperature stable pigments, pre mixed with fluxes for the required
temperatures) are required.
For glass decoration, fluxes fusing at **0deg.C or **0 deg. C are
required.
For metal enameling( sheet steel, cast iron, copper or jewelry),
fluxes fusing at **0 deg. C are used.
For bone china, hotel china, tiles and sanitaryware also
fluxes fusing at **0 deg. C are usually used, though sometimes,
fluxes fusing at ***0 deg. C are preffered.
Decal manufacturers and ceramic printers usually prefer fluxes
fusing at **0 deg. C.
